Screentek / Identity Furniture
Screentek is a furniture company focusing on creating more efficient work environments wether it be privacy or ease of use.
In second year (2018/2019) a group of 8 students were selected to take part in this design process, the brief we receive was very open ended although this was cut down to two main products that they are ready to manufacture at the time of the brief and one more conceptual product for a view into future products they could consider.
The project only ran for 3 hours a week and lasted just over 3 months meaning the amount of time we had to design didn't allow for much time for research and development.
These boards are similar to what they already produce although they contain slots which allow each employee to design and edit their workspace to their own personal preferences.

This was shown with a metal frame although using the foam panels that the company already uses would create a small quiet environment for people who are working on laptops to get away from the noisy and busy office environment.

Garage Workspace / Bar
This project was a small project which had a turn around of 2 days, it had to be kept simple and within a very tight budget meaning it had to use standard size timber. The multiple functions of the product meant that there was a low level used as the desk when working and a glass / fridge holder when it was needed, it then had a shallower high level which was then used as a storage area while working and the bar when it was needed.
Due to the timeframe of the project and they type of project full resolution renders was not a requirement it was more of a technical drawing based project.
The desk area is cut out around the back legs of the product as it i cheaper to use the leg to also hold up the bar level.
The back of the bar is being panelled simply for the aesthetic look when in bar form, this face of the product will be pushed up against the wall when the bar is not in use.
Reclaimed wood was used for the framework and also the panelling to make the build as sustainable as possible.
